50,000 pregnant women in Gaza are facing a devastating situation, as the healthcare system teeters on the edge of collapse, according to the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) representative for the state of Palestine, Dominic Allen.

Out of these women, approximately 5,000 are expected to give birth in the upcoming month, and many may encounter complications. The circumstances are truly nightmarish, with pregnant women enduring their final trimester without proper clothing, hygiene supplies, or support.

Uncertainty looms over their lives, as they are unsure of what each passing day, hour, or minute will bring for themselves and their unborn children.

The stories emerging from hospitals paint a harrowing picture of the situation in Gaza. One midwife shared with Allen that, due to the hazardous environment, some of them have been unable to reach the maternity ward to provide assistance since the conflict began.
