Talking about Palestinian national unity is not a type of intellectual luxury or unrealistic theorizing, because unity is the foundation of construction, giving, resistance, and liberation from the occupier!

Early Palestinian Cohesion

Since the 1920s, with the emergence of signs of the Zionist occupation of Palestinian lands, Palestinian cohesion was the most prominent force capable of confronting the terrorist groups that were gathered from various parts of the world claiming that they owned a homeland called "Israel"!

 Zionist Efforts to Divide and Conquer

The Zionist gangs, both in occupied Palestine and abroad, attempted to distort facts and falsify history. They sought, with all their vast financial capabilities and their widespread diplomacy across the globe, to spread a "divide and conquer" policy among Palestinians and Arabs on one hand, and among Palestinians themselves on the other hand, crushing anyone who seeks Palestinian unity.

Historical Context of Zionist Unity

When we read the initial history of the Palestinian issue, we find that "the solidarity and unity of the Zionists" was the most significant reason for their success in establishing the Zionist entity. This success began with the promise made by Britain to the Jews to establish a national home for them in Palestine, as well as the unity of the Jews who immigrated to Palestine!

The Zionists continued their efforts with diligence and persistence, supporting their international position by establishing the Jewish Agency in 1929.

Support from Western Powers!

Since Britain announced the end of its mandate over Palestine in mid-May 1948, it, along with the majority of Western countries, continued to provide all kinds of military, financial, moral, media, and strategic support to the leadership of the Zionist occupation without considering the reference of the ruling party in the occupied Palestinian territories.

  U.S. Supporters!

U.S. President Franklin Roosevelt (d. 1945) is considered one of the most prominent supporters of the Jewish state. In March 1944, he presented the issue of establishing a "Jewish state" in Palestine to the Foreign Affairs Committee of the U.S. Congress, which stirred Arab public opinion. Thus, were the positions of U.S. President Harry Truman (d. 1972), who asked Britain in 1945 to allow one hundred thousand Jews to enter Palestine immediately!

 Continuing Western Support

Thus, Western support for the Zionists has not ceased since the 1920s, and continues to this day, with the majority of Western figures and parties linking their electoral success to support and advocacy for "Israel"! Today, after several decades, Western countries, led by the United States, continue to provide full support to the Zionists to control the region and strike at targets from which they sense even a mere whiff of a threat, rather than a real threat!

 Internal Palestinian Fragmentation

The cohesive Western stance is unfortunately met with some forms of fragmentation and infighting among Palestinians, as if we are facing multiple peoples, rather than a single nation bound by many ties, among which are: nationalism, religion, language, common destiny, and other factors of cohesion and solidarity!

 The Gaza Conflict  

The ongoing saga of Gaza, which has lasted for more than 450 days, is the focal point around which all Palestinian figures, parties, and entities from various intellectual and ideological backgrounds should unite!  

 Call for Unity

In light of the importance of preserving Palestinian blood and rejecting infighting and safeguarding Palestinian national unity in the face of aggression and in defense of the rights of the Palestinian people, the "Popular Conference for Palestinians Abroad" called, on December 27, 2024, for free people around the world to sign a petition for the unity of the Palestinian people in the face of genocide and complicity.

This position deserves respect and appreciation, and should be supported to emphasize the importance of Palestinian unity in confronting the renewed Zionist schemes!  

 The Current State of Palestinian Unity

The clashes that are occurring between some elements of the Palestinian security forces and the resistance in the cities within the territories only spread happiness and pride among the enemies, while planting unhappiness and disappointment in the hearts of all who love Palestine and its people!

The Palestinian cause is now at a critical crossroads that compels the pure hearted among Palestinians, both individuals and institutions, to leave behind images of discord and infighting, and to unite their voices against the enemy that seeks to undermine them. Gaza is nothing but conclusive evidence of the Zionist entity's hatred for Palestinians without distinction among them!  

Let us learn from our enemies the values of cohesion, solidarity, and mutual advice!
