Enhancing Governance and Anchoring a Culture of Compliance
Namaa Charity Hosts Training Course on Regulatory Compliance
In line with its dedication to strengthening institutional governance and corporate compliance, Namaa Charity, an affiliate of the Social Reform Society, conducted a training course for its staff entitled "Regulatory Compliance." The workshop was delivered by lawyer Jaber Al-Filakawi, the Regulatory Compliance Officer at Namaa Charity, and addressed key pillars concerning disclosure policies, conflicts of interest, publishing guidelines, and rules governing what information may be shared publicly versus what must remain confidential under approved institutional policies.
The course aimed to raise employee awareness regarding
regulatory compliance requirements and deepen their understanding of
professional and organizational responsibilities. This initiative supports
adherence to internal policies, aids in protecting sensitive information, and
reinforces principles of integrity and transparency across all facets of
charitable operations.
Al-Filakawi: Regulatory Compliance Is a Core Pillar for Boosting Transparency and Protecting Charity Reputation
Speaking on the initiative, Al-Filakawi emphasized that
adherence to regulatory guidelines constitutes a fundamental cornerstone for
sustaining charitable work and bolstering public trust. He noted that spreading
a culture of compliance among personnel helps unify professional practices,
mitigate organizational risks, and ensure tasks are executed according to
approved regulatory frameworks and policies.
He added that prioritizing ongoing training and awareness
reflects Namaa Charity's commitment to advancing the institutional
workplace environment and fostering accountability among employees when
handling information, decisions, and procedures—thereby aligning with
governance standards, regulatory requirements, and the preservation of
institutional reputation.
Al-Kandari: Raising Employee Awareness of Disclosure Policies Strengthens Professional Practices
For his part, Public Relations Director Waleed Al-Kandari
stated that organizing this training course forms part of Namaa Charity's
ongoing efforts to enhance employee capabilities and familiarize them with
operational governance rules—specifically disclosure policies and
conflict-of-interest guidelines—and the vital importance of avoiding situations
that could compromise professional impartiality or conflict with the
organization’s interests.
Al-Kandari explained that complying with regulations governing public disclosure and media dissemination of information is a shared responsibility. It requires employees to clearly distinguish between authorized public information and confidential data requiring prior approval. He stressed that awareness of these guidelines safeguards data, strengthens the credibility of media communications, and builds lasting confidence in charitable work in Kuwait and its underlying institutions.
