Crown Prince meets Qatari Amir

  Representative of HH the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, met on Wednesday with Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani at Lusail Palace in Doha.

HH the Crown Prince conveyed the condolences and heartfelt sympathies of HH the Amir of Kuwait to the Amir of Qatar and to the brotherly Qatari people over the martyrdom of a member of the Qatari internal security forces as a result of the brutal Zionist aggression on Doha. He prayed to Almighty Allah to bestow His vast mercy upon the martyr, grant him a place in Paradise, and bless the injured with speedy recovery.

HH the Crown Prince reaffirmed Kuwait’s firm and unwavering stance in condemning and denouncing the Zionist attacks on Qatar, stressing that such acts represent a blatant violation of international laws and norms, and pose a serious threat to the security and stability of the region. He called on the UN Security Council and the international community to shoulder their responsibilities in safeguarding international peace and security and to put an end to these aggressions. He further reiterated Kuwait’s full support and solidarity with Qatar in all measures it takes to preserve its security, stability and the safety of its citizens and residents. – Agencies

 Kuwait’s seventh relief flight departs, carrying 10 tons of food aid to Gaza

  The seventh aircraft of Kuwait’s second humanitarian air bridge for Gaza departed Tuesday from Abdullah Al-Mubarak Air Base, carrying 10 tons of food aid to Marka Military Airport in Jordan.

Organized by the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) in cooperation with the Ministries of Social Affairs, Foreign Affairs, and Defense, the aid is part of the “Kuwait Is by Your Side” humanitarian campaign in urgent solidarity.

Chairman of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) Khalid Al-Maqamis told KUNA before departure that continuous humanitarian convoys are being dispatched to Gaza, following high directives and addressing critical needs for vital assistance, reflecting Kuwait’s humanitarian principles.

He noted the ongoing coordination with Kuwait’s embassy in Jordan, the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization, and the Palestinian Red Crescent to ensure efficient aid delivery.Al-Maqamis praised the continuous support of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, to the humanitarian work and charitable organizations.

Al-Nouri Charity Distributes School Bags to 1,500 Needy Students in Kuwait

Sheikh Abdullah Al-Nouri Charity Society announced the implementation of its annual project to distribute school bags to needy students within Kuwait. This year, 1,500 male and female students from underprivileged families benefited from the initiative. This is part of a charitable program that aims to ease the financial burden on many families at the start of the new school year.

Abdul Latif Al-Dawas, Director of the Resources and Media Sector at the society, said that the project has been carried out for the fifth consecutive year. He emphasized that this initiative embodies the values of solidarity and compassion and supports students in their educational journey by providing school bags with all necessary stationery, in addition to vouchers for school clothes.

Al-Dawas pointed out that this project is part of the society's commitment to supporting male and female students from underprivileged families in Kuwait, explaining that many of these families face difficulties in providing school supplies for their children. This makes the initiative have a significant impact in alleviating their burdens.

Al-Dawas reaffirmed that the Sheikh Abdullah Al-Nouri Charity Society is continuing its approach of implementing charitable projects within Kuwait, whether in the fields of education, sponsorships, or seasonal initiatives. Kuwait urges urgent global action on Gaza, Sudan crises at UNHRC

  Kuwait’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva, Ambassador Nasser Al-Hayen, on Sunday underscored the urgent need for concerted international action to address grave humanitarian crises and human rights violations in Gaza and Sudan. Speaking to KUNA ahead of the 60th session of the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC), which opens Monday, Al-Hayen stressed the importance of the meeting amid escalating global challenges. He said Kuwait, in coordination with GCC countries and other regional and political blocs, is pressing for a stronger international response, particularly regarding the ongoing atrocities in Gaza.

Al-Hayen described the situation in Gaza as among the world’s worst humanitarian disasters, marked by starvation, destruction and mass displacement. He called for intensified efforts to halt violations, end the occupation’s crimes, prevent the annexation of the West Bank and East Jerusalem, and ensure the immediate entry of humanitarian aid. He warned that the UN’s recent declaration of famine in Gaza underscores the urgency of the crisis, urging swift action to save civilians and avert further loss of life. The UNHRC session runs until October 8 and will review human rights issues worldwide, including access to water, elderly rights, climate change and racism. From September 26-29, the Council will also adopt Universal Periodic Review reports.

Meanwhile, tensions rose Sunday after Zionist Foreign Minister Gideon Saar dismissed growing international momentum to recognize a Palestinian state as a “tremendous mistake,” warning it could prompt unilateral measures by Zionist entity. His remarks followed reports of plans to annex parts of the occupied West Bank, including the controversial E1 settlement project east of Jerusalem, which the international community has repeatedly warned that it threatens the viability of a future Palestinian state.

France and Britain are among several countries that have pledged to recognize Palestinian statehood on the sidelines of the upcoming 80th UN General Assembly, a move strongly opposed by Zionist officials. Far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has openly declared that annexing large areas of the West Bank would “bury the idea of a Palestinian state once and for all.” Since the Gaza war erupted on October 7, 2023, violence has also escalated in the West Bank. According to Palestinian health authorities, at least 973 Palestinians, including militants, have been killed by Zionist forces or settlers, while Zionist officials report 36 deaths, including soldiers, in Palestinian attacks and military operations during the same period. — Agencies

  Namaa Charity, an affiliate of the Social Reform Society, on Tuesday launched the Humanitarian Hub platform (https://humanitarian-hub.org), designed to equip charitable institutions with modern tools that enhance efficiency and enable a shift from short-term relief to long-term sustainable impact. Speaking at the launch ceremony, Namaa Charity CEO Saad Al-Otaibi said the initiative coincides with the anniversary of Kuwait being designated by the United Nations as a “Humanitarian Hub.”

He described the platform as “a bridge between thought and practice,” offering advanced cognitive and applied tools to strengthen transparency, governance, innovation and financial sustainability across the non-profit sector. Al-Otaibi noted that the platform will feature a range of projects and resources, including Humanitarian Hub Magazine as a regular publication on emerging trends, practical guides such as the “AI in Charitable Work” manual, and digital tools like an impact analysis mechanism and a performance dashboard to track operational and financial indicators in real time.

The platform will also host events, specialized seminars and an annual conference. Deputy CEO Abdulaziz Al-Kandari said the project reflects Namaa’s commitment to building a modern knowledge ecosystem for the non-profit field.   HH the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received at Bayan Palace on Monday Minister of Health Dr Ahmad Al-Awadhi and a medical team specialized in remote robotic surgeries. They briefed HH the Amir on the international medical achievement of conducting 10 highly intricate remote surgeries efficiently, which embodies Kuwait’s progress in the field of robotic surgeries.

HH the Amir praised their achievements, scientific excellence, ability to keep up with modern developments and keenness on adopting the latest technologies. HH the Amir wished them success in the service of Kuwait and to represent it in all regional and international medical platforms.

Separately, HH the Amir Sheikh Meshal received at Bayan Palace Saudi State Minister and member of the Council of Ministers Prince Turki bin Mohammed Al-Saud on the occasion of his visit to the country.

  MoE ready for new school year

132,000 teachers, admins head back to school • New curricula, textbooks rolled out

  Public schools across Kuwait will reopen their doors to welcome back more than 132,000 teachers and administrators as staff officially resume work ahead of the 2025/2026 academic year. The ministry of education confirmed full readiness for the new school year, highlighting its commitment to delivering quality education that meets community expectations and advances the goals of the national education system.

In a statement on Saturday, the ministry said around 104,000 of those returning are members of the teaching staff. It stressed continued progress in implementing new curricula from kindergarten through grade nine, alongside updated educational plans designed to strengthen national identity while keeping pace with global scientific and technological developments.

The ministry added that subject supervisors have already launched an extensive training program to prepare schools for the curriculum rollout. A series of workshops will begin Monday, combining in-person sessions at training centers with online modules to ensure wide participation and flexibility.

These workshops will cover the philosophy and framework of the new curricula, teaching strategies, application methods, and the teacher’s guide, in addition to enhancing instructional skills and modern teaching techniques. Progress will be closely monitored through periodic reports to ensure quality and consistency.

The ministry emphasized that the training aims to equip supervisors, department heads and teachers with student-centered teaching tools and evaluation methods, ultimately preparing educators to adapt to technological changes and classroom needs.

Meanwhile, textbook printing is in its final stages, with 40 percent already delivered and 85 percent expected before classes begin. Digital copies will also be available to teachers and students through ministry platforms, supporting Kuwait’s ongoing shift toward digital learning.

The ministry underlined that the new curricula were developed through sustained scientific and educational efforts in line with international standards, with a strong focus on national identity, values of belonging and openness to modern knowledge. The goal, it said, is to graduate a creative, competitive generation capable of contributing to the nation’s future. — KUNA 

Kuwait, GCC, Arabs blast Zionist PM over irresponsible remark

  Kuwait strongly condemned statements made by Zionist prime minister regarding plans to forcibly displace Palestinians from their land, describing the remarks as a blatant violation of international law and humanitarian principles. In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said such comments represent a flagrant challenge to the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people and a continuation of the occupation’s aggressive policies.

Kuwait reaffirmed its categorical rejection of all attempts to evict Palestinians, urging the international community and the UN Security Council to take immediate action to halt what it described as genocide, collective punishment, starvation tactics and settlement expansion in occupied Palestine. The ministry stressed that a comprehensive and just peace in the region cannot be achieved without ending the Zionist occupation, establishing an independent and sovereign Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Jasem Al-Budaiwi also denounced the statements as “serious and irresponsible,” warning that they amounted to an explicit call for ethnic cleansing in clear violation of international law. He said such rhetoric reflects the aggressive approach of Zionist authorities, which undermines regional and international efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace in the Middle East. Al-Budaiwi called on the international community to assume its legal, moral, and humanitarian responsibilities in preventing further escalation, while reiterating the GCC’s firm support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including the right to statehood in line with the Arab Peace Initiative and relevant UN resolutions.

Meanwhile, Arab foreign ministers, concluding the 164th session of the Arab League Council in Cairo under the chairmanship of the United Arab Emirates, rejected any proposals that undermine the sovereignty or territorial integrity of Arab states. The ministers adopted a resolution titled “A Common Vision for Security and Cooperation in the Region,” which reaffirmed support for Palestinian rights, opposed demographic changes in occupied territories, and underscored the need to end occupation of Palestinian and Arab lands.

The resolution also highlighted the importance of regional cooperation in addressing security challenges, advancing peaceful conflict resolution, and promoting nuclear non-proliferation. It called for placing all nuclear facilities under international supervision and for establishing a Middle East free of weapons of mass destruction. Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit said the resolution, introduced by Egypt and Saudi Arabia, reflects a shared Arab commitment to peace, security, and development in the region. — KUNA

Minister stresses country’s long-standing legacy in relief and charitable work

  Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs Dr Amthal Al-Huwailah reaffirmed Kuwait’s enduring role as a beacon of humanitarian giving and compassion, stressing the country’s long-standing legacy in relief and charitable work. Speaking to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on the occasion of the International Day of Charity, observed annually on September 5, Al-Huwailah said Kuwait, recognized by the United Nations as a global humanitarian center, continues to provide vital aid to disaster-stricken nations worldwide.

She highlighted Kuwait’s recent efforts in support of the Palestinian people in Gaza, citing the “Fazaa for Gaza” campaign organized in coordination with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense, the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, and local charities, which raised KD 11.5 million (about $37.6 million) in only three days. Al-Huwailah also recalled Kuwait’s hosting of the international donor conference in May 2024, which secured more than $2 billion in aid for Gaza, in partnership with the International Islamic Charitable Organization and the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

Al-Huwailah stressed that Kuwait’s humanitarian outreach extends beyond emergency relief to include education and healthcare infrastructure in developing countries, making it a model for global efforts. She called for stronger cooperation with international organizations such as the UN and the Red Cross to address pressing global challenges, including conflicts and climate change, emphasizing that even modest contributions can have significant impact.
