According to John Kirby, spokesperson for the US National Security Council, the United States does not endorse the current calls for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. Instead, Kirby suggests implementing temporary humanitarian truces to facilitate the delivery of aid to Gaza.

Kirby explained that Hamas would be the sole party benefiting from an immediate ceasefire. He further stated that the primary objective for the US administration is to ensure safe passage out of Gaza. Following this, discussions will be conducted with regional partners, such as Egypt, to assess their capacity to accommodate families seeking temporary relocation from Gaza.
