Good Treatment and Medical Care

Yesterday, an elderly Israeli woman named Yochved Lifshitz, who was released by Hamas, shared her experience. She said that the fighters of the Islamic Resistance Movement treated them well, took care of their needs, and provided them with medical care.

Yochved Lifshitz, who is 85 years old, revealed in a press conference at an Israeli hospital that the Palestinian resistance members assured them that they would not harm them. They even provided them with food and drink during their detention.

She said, "They told us that they believe in the Quran, that they will not harm us, and that they will treat us as they treat those around them."

Yochved Lifshitz continued, "A doctor would come to us every few days to check on our condition. He made sure we had the medicines we needed. We ate bread with white cheese and cucumber, just like they did."

When asked why she shook hands with the Palestinian resistance members during her release, she replied that she did so because they treated her and the other prisoners well and took care of all their needs. She added, "They were very kind and paid attention to every detail. Hamas had planned everything in advance, even providing shampoo and conditioner."

Criticisms

Some Israelis criticized the decision to allow the released elderly woman to hold a press conference and speak directly to the media.

Amichai Stein, a correspondent for the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation, expressed his belief that the authorities did not discuss the press conference beforehand and did not ask enough questions about it.

Release for Humanitarian Reasons

Abu Ubaida, the spokesman for the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, announced that Hamas released the two detainees, Nurit Yitzhak and Yochved Lifshitz, for humanitarian reasons. This came after the Israeli occupation had previously refused to receive them.

The Al-Qassam Brigades shared a video clip of the release process. Abu Ubaida confirmed that their release was due to compelling humanitarian and medical reasons, despite the occupation violating the agreed-upon procedures during the handover.
