Threats and Pleas

A recent report from the United Nations (UN) has raised concerns about the treatment of Palestinians in Gaza, stating that they are at risk of experiencing "genocide." The UN experts are urging for an end to Israel's occupation of Palestinian territories to prevent further harm.

In light of this report, the Palestinian Red Crescent has made an urgent appeal to the international community. They are calling for immediate action to prevent a potential massacre at Al-Quds Hospital in Gaza. The hospital received a threat from the Israeli army, demanding its evacuation to avoid a repeat of the tragic Al-Ahly Baptist Hospital massacre.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society has confirmed that they received a threat from the Israeli authorities, warning of a possible bombing of Al-Quds Hospital. The Israeli army demanded the immediate evacuation of the hospital, which currently houses over 400 patients and approximately 12,000 displaced civilians seeking safety.

Just two days ago, the vicinity of Al-Quds Hospital was heavily bombarded, further escalating concerns for the safety of those inside.

The association is urgently calling on the world to take immediate action to prevent another massacre like the one that occurred at Al-Ahly Baptist Hospital.

Unsafe Refugee Shelters

In addition to the hospital threat, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has declared that five schools in Gaza City, where Palestinians have sought refuge, are no longer safe. This announcement follows a warning from Israel.

UNRWA expressed regret over the situation, stating that Israel has informed them of the need to evacuate these structures as soon as possible. Despite their protests and objections, the bottom line is that these facilities are no longer considered safe. UNRWA is urgently calling for an immediate evacuation.

Humanitarian Crisis

For the past two weeks, Israel has been carrying out aggressive attacks on Gaza, resulting in massive destruction. The conflict has led to over 4,100 deaths and 13,000 injuries, with a majority of the victims being women and children. The residents of Gaza are also facing severe shortages of water, electricity, food, and medicine. This dire situation has prompted local and international warnings of a humanitarian catastrophe.

Simultaneously, Israel has been conducting extensive raids and arrests in the occupied West Bank.

Response from Palestinian Factions

In response to the ongoing Israeli attacks on Palestinians and their sacred sites, the Al-Qassam Brigades (the military wing of Hamas) and other Palestinian factions in Gaza launched Operation Al-Aqsa Flood on October 7. As part of this operation, they stormed Israeli settlements and military sites surrounding the Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths of over 1,400 Israelis.
