There is no doubt that the increase in unemployment rates, the rise in dowries, and the high prices are behind the reluctance of many young people to marry and to seek to establish a stable family. For fear of bearing the economic and social repercussions of that step, but other reasons lie behind the scenes.
It may be frank to say: the means of communication, chat applications, video sites, and the openness they have created to the virtual world; All these left serious negative effects related to the perception of marriage by young people of both sexes.
Perhaps one of the most dangerous of these effects
First: the volume of pornography that invaded the Internet and the means of communication, which limits the youth's willingness to chastise himself, and pushes him to enter another world to satisfy his sexual desires, and to obtain the pleasure he wants in the forbidden.
Second: This pornography changes a man’s view of a woman, and a young man’s view of a girl, so that he thinks that every girl is permissible, and that everybody is cheap, so he loses confidence in women. At that time, the young man claims to lose hope of finding a decent girl with modesty, or he goes out to search for ideal physical standards that match movie stars, so he claims that he does not find what he wants yet.
Third: The exaggerated clips broadcast on cyberspace about supernatural sexual abilities cause both sexes to suffer from “gamophobia”, that is, the fear of marriage, and the fear of not being able to have marital intercourse. So the young man thinks that he is physically ill and that he is unable to give his wife her rights, and the girl may fear the marital relationship, so she also refrains from marriage.
Fourth: The extravagance of the manifestations of weddings, transmitted by the “media”, and boasted by the accounts of celebrities on the means of communication, is a barrier against marriage, by pushing girls to fascination, imitation and simulation, and the search for a legendary marriage, a night of life at exorbitant costs, and a honeymoon in the Maldives. This makes any young man feel poor and unable to realize his bride's dreams later.
Fifth: Disclosing secrets and details of marital life, via Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, and other modern means, gives young people a strong argument and a motivating justification for staying in the world of celibacy, on the pretext of avoiding disagreements, divorce, ruining homes, and losing everything.
Sixth: What is widely circulated about the crimes of husbands, and the widespread publication of their details, such as a man’s killing of his wife, or a woman’s poisoning of her husband, raises fears among young men and women of reaching this fate. This makes celibacy an ideal option compared to what they hear about family disputes that may end in divorce or murder.
Seventh: This electronic world opens doors for young people, such as emigration, obtaining the highest academic degrees, obtaining another nationality, and perhaps quick wealth through YouTube and its likes, which puts the marriage at that time in the form of an obstacle that will prevent him from achieving his dreams.
Eighth: What the new means of communication provide of freedom outside supervision, relative privacy, and false pleasure in entertainment and wasting time make some people afraid of losing their personal independence, in light of the responsibilities and duties that will result from marriage, in addition to the fear of marital routine and boredom.
Ninth: Changing women’s view of marriage, and provoking rivalry between women and men, by broadcasting every moment of toxic substances aimed at dismantling the Muslim family and destroying its constants, making the girl view marriage and having children as a heavy burden and delusion, which will strip her of her hobbies and friends, and perhaps destroy her dreams and aspirations in Travel, work and self-expression. This causes her to enter willingly and inadvertently into the spiral of spinsterhood.
Tenth: This virtual world has been made it available to young people of both sex types of marriage that we are not familiar with. Such as “Al-Misyar”, “Al-Misfar”, “Friend”, “Urfi or Secret”, “Tourist”, and “Internet Marriage” ... and other forms of marriage that do not achieve housing and affection, and do not provide a stable structure for a successful marriage.
These are some of the damages and consequences of this electronic scourge, which continues to distort Islamic identity, change ideas, dissolve principles, and destroy values. Marriage, chastity, and having children have become “old fashion,” an obstacle to progress and achievement, or a cause of sadness and unhappiness.
Here It Is necessary to sound the alarm, to stand firmly against attempts to hate young people in marriage, to create real awareness of the importance of building a family, the rights of spouses, and to push the media to improve the image of marriage.
The matter is very dangerous because the age of marriage is late, spinsterhood is prevalent, and rates of reluctance to marry are increasing. It threatens society with waves of dissolution, the spread of immorality, immorality, and forbidden relationships, as well as the resulting spread of crime, rape, and suicide, the increase in mental illness, and the growth of societal discontent. Hence, the instability of society, and the disruption of the capabilities of young people who are the hope of tomorrow and the pillar of the future.
