Youth… Do Not Take Small Sins Lightly

O youth, No one among you wakes up one day
to suddenly find himself lost, astray, and drowning in sins.
Being lost does not come all at once—it
begins with a small step, a minor indulgence, a sin we think insignificant.
Small sins do not remain small when we take
them lightly.
The Prophet ﷺ said: “Beware of
trivial sins, for they gather upon a person until they destroy him.”
Habit of Sinning
It begins with a glance… then an image…
then a habit.
With a small lie… then the habit of lying.
With a moment of backbiting in a gathering…
then it becomes a trait that never leaves you.
Whisper of Satan
And Satan does not push you forcefully into
sin; rather, he whispers.
He says to you: “Just once won’t hurt…
You’re better than others… Allah is Forgiving, Merciful…”
Until, once your feet are placed on the
path, he shuts the door upon you.
Call to Awakening
And I do not call you to be angels, nor to
abandon this world.
Rather, I call you to awaken your hearts,
to constant repentance, to a feeling of remorse whenever you slip.
Religion: Light and Dignity
Religion is not endless prohibitions—it is
light, protection, and dignity.
And the most beautiful adornment of a youth is not a graduation medal, but a
tear of repentance, a prostration in the depth of the night, and uprightness in
times of trials.
Loss of Modesty
Beware of being stripped of the blessing of
modesty, for it is the first thing to be taken away when sins are normalized.
One of the Salaf said: “If you do not feel
shy before Allah, then from whom will you feel shy?”
Know that Allah is not only to be found in
the mosque—He watches you in private, in closed rooms, in hidden accounts.
Hope of the Ummah
O youth of the Ummah, you are the hope, you
are the coming dawn.
So be people of white hearts, not just
white screens.
