Even if the warin Gaza is over, the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip has reached its first stage, and the two sides have started exchanging prisoners. It appears that the next stage of the agreement's provisions is still blocked and riddled with difficulties because of the remaining Hamas members. Egypt has, however, urged caution, keeping the peace, and putting an end to the conflict in the Gaza Strip permanently. The details can be corrected; however, it can take some time.

Prisoner Exchange Complicated by Deportation Reversals

154 deportees who were supposed to be deported outside of the Gaza Strip were among the approximately 1,966 Palestinian prisoners on the first day following the conclusion of the exchange procedure between the Israeli and Palestinian parties. However, 96 of them arrived after Israel reversed its order to deport them due to the fact that they were originally from the Gaza Strip. Mohammedal-Arda and Ayham Kamamji — the heroes of the Freedom Tunnel — were deported to Egypt together with the other prisoners from the West Bank and Jerusalem. Twenty Israeli captives were exchanged for all of this.

Body Recovery Delayed Amid Rubble and Restrictions

Due to the extensive damage and rubble that needs to be cleared by machinery, Hamas has delayed the agreed-upon method for transporting the bodies of those killed. Israel, however, limits the use of machinery to aid in the body recovery. Hamas and the International Red Cross personnel are working hard to search, and yesterday night a body was discovered. It will be turned over right away to the Israeli side. The two parties' agreement has become more problematic as a result of the bodies' issue and the breach. The crossing was scheduled to open the day following the ceasefire and prisoner exchange, but Hamas has suspended its opening.

Escalation Over Body Transfers and Delays

In any case, 11 of the 28 bodies have been delivered, to the point where the conflict between the two sides grew more intense, even though Hamas claimed that the destruction and conflict made it take longer to deliver the dead.

Trump Threatens Hamas Over Agreement Compliance

Hamas was threatened by U.S. President Donald Trump, who stated that "if they fail to stick to the current agreements, Washington will allow Israel to resume its military operations in the sector."

Technocratic Governance Proposed for Gaza’s Future

Although Trump has stated in several meetings that Hamas is committed to all the terms and that long-term peace will prevail in the Gaza Strip, there are worries that if Hamas does not follow the agreements that were discussed with everyone in the terms of Trump'splan for the following day regarding who will govern Gaza, it will be a technocratic government from Gaza and the West Bank that has no political connection to Hamas or the Palestinian National Authority.

Rafah Crossing Reopens Under Second Agreement

The occupation authorities refuse to open the Rafah border crossing from the Palestinian side despite the signing of the SharmEl-Sheikh peace agreement and the end of the war in the Gaza Strip. They list a number of reasons, chief among them being the delay in receiving the bodies of Israeli prisoners. However, Israel chose to start working on opening the Rafah gate on Monday after loosening pressure on Hamas following the delivery of 11 detained Israeli bodies.

Injured and Passport Holders Prioritized at Rafah

The injured and those with Egyptian passports will be given preference when the Rafah crossing is opened. This is how the first day will go: During the first few days after it opens, 50 injured people will enter the Rafah crossing every day with a companion.

Expanded Travel Mechanism and Redeployment Plans

The mechanism will be expanded to include the travel of categories after 10 days from the opening of the Rafah crossing. The embassy also arranges the procedures for the return of Palestinians from Egypt to the Gaza Strip. The occupying army confirmed that it will redeploy in the vicinity of the Rafah crossing by one kilometer in all directions.
