Two Years Since the “Al-Aqsa Flood”
Who could have imagined that a battle
between a small faction in a tiny piece of land, besieged for more than 14
years, and the entire Western world with all its weaponry and equipment, its
missiles and aircraft, its soldiers and advanced technology, its intelligence
networks and spies, its lackeys and collaborators, and a volunteer army of
hypocrites from among the Arabs would last for several months despite being so
utterly unequal?
Even the most optimistic among us only
hoped that the resistance could withstand the brutal war machine for six or
seven months. And why not, when America, Britain, Germany, France, Italy, their
lackeys, and the people of hypocrisy had all united against the people of Gaza?
But what many of them overlooked is that Allah Almighty said in His Book:
]
How often a small force has defeated a large army with God’s permission! God is
with those who are steadfast.[ ] Al-Baqarah:249[
What Has Gaza Lost Since the “Al-Aqsa
Flood”?
Many
of the hypocrites, the weak-willed, and the faint-hearted, along with a few of
the honest ones who weigh only interests and harms, believe that the resistance
hastened the battle. They claim it is the reason behind all the destruction and
devastation that befell Gaza, arguing that there was nothing positive in the
confrontation launched by the resistance on October 7, 2023, and that the
resistance should not have provoked the enemy or challenged it on behalf of
Gaza.
To be
fair, we must acknowledge: yes, losses occurred for the people of Gaza, and
they undoubtedly endured pain. Displacement, killings, and destruction are
neither minor nor easily overlooked. But! Did the enemy not suffer the same,
fulfilling the truth of our Lord's words: ]
Do not be faint-hearted in pursuing the enemy: if you are suffering hardship,
so are they, but you hope to receive something from God for which they cannot
hope. God is all knowing and wise.[ ] An-Nisa:104[
Indeed,
although the enemy’s pain was comparatively small against that of the people of
Gaza, it was far more severe than the suffering of the patient believers.
Moreover, our martyrs are not truly lost, for they are alive, as our Lord said:
]
do not think of those who have been killed in God’s way as dead. They are alive
with their Lord, well provided for[ ] Ali 'Imran:169[
And
as for the houses and belongings that were destroyed, it was only a form of
harm, as Allah Almighty said: ]
they will not do you much harm: even if they come out to fight you, they will
soon turn tail; they will get no help[ ] Ali 'Imran:111[
So, if we have lost anything, they have lost the same and
even more.
The Resistance’s Gains
The
resistance, along with the believing nation, has gained great benefits from the
battle. Every setback that befell the enemy is a victory for the resistance and
the nation, not to mention the direct gains for the resistance and its
supporters. Here, we highlight some of these achievements:
1. The rise of the
Palestinian cause to the forefront of the global stage, after it had nearly
died out quietly, is undeniable. (To the extent that around 147 countries at
the United Nations now call for a Palestinian state, even though they still
recognize the state of the occupier—an advanced stage in their position.) While
we do not believe in the two-state solution, for us there is only one state:
Palestine. We know their recognition is dubious, conditioned by unreasonable
terms, and ultimately serves the occupier. Yet, it remains a clear indication
of the Palestinian cause gaining prominence on both the international and
popular arenas.
2. Undermining the
normalization project at its roots after it had become an imposed reality on
our countries, willingly or by force. Those who advocate normalization are now
labeled traitors and collaborators, and the rulers who used to hide behind the
Palestinian cause have been exposed and shamed before their peoples. Pro‑enemy
leaders have become reviled by their own populations, who fear that the masses
may rise up to remove them—especially those who directly participate in
besieging the Muslims in Gaza.
3. The true weakness of
the army, which had long portrayed itself as invincible, has been exposed. Its
soldiers are seen as captives while it cannot rescue them; after two years, it
has failed to free a single prisoner except through agreements and exchanges.
Dozens of its men have been killed, yet it cannot confront the lions of the
battlefield, despite being armed with every type of advanced weapon and
supported by modern technology.
4. The reverse migration
and the flight of many of the occupier’s population from Palestinian lands,
with no intention of returning, has taken place. All of them now live in fear
and insecurity for themselves and their wealth, each wondering where to go
next. They who once claimed this land as their promised homeland have now
realized that they have no future there.
5. The International
Criminal Court has ruled that the occupier’s Prime Minister and others with him
are war criminals and must be arrested a historic verdict never before issued.
Even if it has not been enforced, this in itself is a victory for the
resistance, justice, and the people of Palestine.
6. The majority of
Western populations have shifted their stance on the Palestinian cause,
abandoning the Zionist narrative. Some even advocate for the cause within
political circles, in addition to the numerous protests and marches across
Western countries. Moreover, there are those who have sacrificed their lives in
support of Palestine. The Zionists are close to being shunned by those who once
praised them. These events will have lasting repercussions on the trajectory of
the Palestinian cause.
7. The ugly face of
America has been revealed in its true form, exposing what was previously
hidden. Everyone now knows that the Zionists are America’s arm in the region,
that it will not allow their defeat, and that it will stand by them in every
forum. This has shifted many people’s perception of the so-called champion of
democracy and human rights. Moreover, it will have lasting effects, revealing
American hypocrisy even to the American people themselves, and altering the
trust other nations place in the United States.
8. Most importantly, the
issue has been brought to the forefront among Arab and Muslim peoples. Yes,
they were not fully prepared for the magnitude of the event, but the cause has
now become evident. Generations have begun to speak of dignity, freedom, and
the rejection of subservience and Western domination. While the effects on our
countries may not be immediate, they will undoubtedly have positive long-term
implications for the Ummah.
The Generation of the Long-Awaited
Victory
The
war has begun, and a generation is actively participating, fully prepared for
it. Yet other generations, still young, have endured the heat and bitterness of
the conflict. These generations are a boiling volcano, a fire that continues to
blaze. Undoubtedly, they will never forget the tragedies inflicted upon them:
fathers killed, mothers tortured, brothers and sisters assassinated in broad
daylight. They will not forget the siege, the starvation, or the displacement.
These generations will remember it all and are ready to sacrifice their lives
in defense of their cause and their faith.
And
that generation will be the bearer of victory, just as victory came by a
generation that once went hungry in Mecca, was besieged in its valleys,
expelled from its homes, and forced to migrate its
house, wealth and children lost. Truly that was the generation of triumph that
returned to reopen Mecca, and through which God granted conquests from the east
to the west. Today generations are being raised on oppression, injustice, and
tyranny, and inevitably those generations will one day exact retribution.
And
we are confident and certain of Allah Almighty’s victory for His believing
servants, who supported Him and strove in His cause. Allah Almighty said: ]
Those who have been attacked are permitted to take up arms because they have
been wronged- God has the power to help them]39[
those who have been driven unjustly from their homes only for saying, ‘Our Lord
is God.’ If God did not repel some people by means of others, many monasteries,
churches, synagogues, and mosques, where God’s name is much invoked, would have
been destroyed. God is sure to help those who help His cause- God is strong and
mighty]
