On 19 Ramadan 1375 AH (April 30, 1956), the Tunisian government issued a decision to make the Zaytuna Mosque a specialized university of science called the Zaytuna University, and it became composed of five faculties.

Year 92 AH: On this day, 19 Ramadan in the year 92 AH, the commander Tariq ibn Ziyad succeeded in controlling northern Iberia at the beginning of the Islamic conquest of Andalusia.
