Namaa Charity Combines Healthcare, Empowerment, and Dignity in India
Khaled Mubarak Al-Shamri, Head of the Programs and Initiatives Sector at Namaa Charity of the Social Reform Society, affirmed that Namaa Charity continues to implement its humanitarian and developmental projects in India through a package of initiatives targeting the essential needs of beneficiaries. These initiatives combine healthcare, economic empowerment, social support, and water provision. He explained that the projects included performing 100 eye surgeries for cataract patients, providing 10 sewing machines under lawful livelihood projects, assisting 24 needy families, and drilling 4 semi-artesian wells.
Treatment and Empowerment: Projects That Create a
Sustainable Impact
Al-Shamri stated: “At Namaa Charity,
we are keen that our projects have an impact that goes beyond providing
immediate assistance. Therefore, the eye surgeries came to restore hope and
light to the lives of 100 beneficiaries suffering from cataracts. Restricting
the loss of sight not only reflects positively on a person's health but also
grants them the opportunity to restore their activity, practice their lives and
work in a better way, and also alleviates the burdens that their family might
bear.”
He added: “On the other hand, lawful
livelihood projects represent one of the most important forms of empowerment we
adopt, as 10 sewing machines were provided to beneficiaries, enabling them to
turn their skills into a productive and sustainable source of income, helping
them support their families with dignity and self-reliance. We were also keen
to assist 24 needy families, believing that true charitable work is what
reaches needy families, stands by them in facing life's burdens, preserves
their dignity, and grants them the elements of stability.”
Water and Wells: Humanitarian Solutions That Enhance
Community Stability
Al-Shamri pointed out that water
projects represent a humanitarian and developmental priority, noting that
drilling 4 semi-artesian wells contributes to providing an essential source of
life, relieves residents from the hardship of accessing water, and enhances the
stability of beneficiary communities, and improves their living conditions.
He stressed that these projects reflect Namaa Charity's vision in creating a sustainable impact, saying: “We always aspire for the donations of the people of charity to reach those who deserve them in the form of projects that make a real difference in their lives, whether by restoring eyesight, providing a source of income, supporting a needy family, or providing water. This is the message we work for at Namaa Charity.”
