Based on a fabricated discovery:
Hindus: "Kaaba is Our God's Temple… and Zamzam is Our Sacred River!"
Hindus claim that most mosques in India were previously Hindu temples, upon which mosques were built when Muslims gained control and established an Islamic empire. Consequently, they have seized or demolished dozens of historic mosques, arguing they were originally temples.
However, their superstitions and animosity towards Islam and
Muslims have now extended to Muslim holy sites. They have begun asserting that
the Holy Kaaba in Makka was originally, 8,000 years ago (before the advent of
Islam), a sacred Hindu "Shiva" temple and the dwelling of their god,
"Ram"!
Their extravagance and hostility have reached the point of
claiming, in reports and tweets on social media, that the Zamzam well is
nothing more than a sacred Hindu river. Furthermore, they allege that the idols
destroyed by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) were idols of Hindu deities!
They have accused Muslims and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) of
eradicating traces of the Hindu past in Makka by destroying idols, including
the idol of "Hubal," the moon god (who resembles their god Shiva),
after the rise of Islam and the spread of monotheism.
The Genesis of the Claims: A
Fabricated Discovery
These delusions began in 2022 when they claimed to have
found an 8,000-year-old Hindu temple southwest of the Saudi capital,
Riyadh. They asserted it was a Hindu pilgrimage site before the advent of
Islam, but it was buried by sand over time, and that there is evidence of a
Hindu place of worship there.
The Indian website "ART News" confirmed, on August
9, 2022, that a team of Saudi and French archaeologists discovered an
8,000-year-old Stone Age settlement southwest of Riyadh, and claimed it was
related to Hinduism.
Although Saudi Arabia officially denied this, affirming that
the discovery was of an ancient pagan civilization from pre-Islamic times,
possibly even before the rise of Quraish, and had no connection to Hinduism.
A report by the fact-checking website "Factly" also
confirmed that the Saudi Heritage Commission's report does not link the temple
to Hinduism, and the claim published by Indian accounts is misleading. However,
Hindu claims and delusions persisted, indicating that their ambitions extend to
Muslim holy sites.
Redefining Makka: Hindu
Interpretations of Islamic Holy Sites
Hindu historians and researchers have claimed that ancient
records describe Makka as a center for the worship of "Shiva,"
one of their alleged idol gods (one of the Hindu trinity which includes
"Brahma" and "Vishnu"), who is called the god of
destruction in India and whose function is to destroy the universe to recreate
it!
They also claimed that an ancient manuscript refers to Makka
as "Makkeshwar Mahadev," a name derived from
"Mahadev" (another name for the alleged god "Shiva").
From this, they concluded that the Kaaba was originally a
Hindu temple dedicated to "Shiva," and the Black Stone is one of the
stones from "Shiva" temples. They also claimed that Muslims
adopted the ritual of circumambulating the Kaaba from Hindu rituals known as "Pradakshina,"
arguing that Muslims, like Hindus, wear white when going on pilgrimage.
In Hindu temples, devotees perform Pradakshina
(circumambulation) around a Shiva Lingam as a form of worship, wearing white
clothes, similar to Muslims' circumambulation of the Kaaba.
On January 9, 2025, Hindu priest Bajrang Muni Udasin
filed a lawsuit before the Indian Supreme Court (which has allowed the
demolition of Muslim mosques or their handover to Hindus), demanding an
investigation into whether Makka is originally a Hindu temple!
The "Erased Legacy": Hindu
Narrative of Islamic History
Similar to their claims that Muslim mosques were originally
Hindu temples that Muslims erased and built mosques over, Hindus claim that
Islam erased the legacy of their god "Shiva" in Makka.
Under the title "Lost Hindu Temples in Makka and
Medina: Did Islam Erase Shiva's Legacy?", the Indian magazine
"Times Life" published a report on March 12, 2025, about claims that Makka
and Medina might have previously been home to Hindu temples dedicated to the
god "Shiva," questioning: Could the Kaaba, Islam's holiest site, be a
Hindu temple dedicated to the god "Shiva"? And could the Black Stone
at its center actually be a "Shiva Lingam" stone?!
These claims were reiterated by Hindu writer P.N. Oak
on the "Original Christianity Original Yoga" website on January 5,
2024, asking: Was the Kaaba originally a Hindu temple?
Political Motivations: Drawing
Parallels with Zionist Claims
Muslim historians from India believe that the increasing
spread of fabricated and false studies by Hindus claiming Makka is the seat of
their god "Shiva" and that they predated Islam in Makka, aims to
target the Kaaba as the oldest mosque in the world to justify their demand for
the demolition of Muslim mosques in India.
They contend that Hindu claims of a "Shiva"
temple in Makka are no different from the Zionist plan that claims
the Jewish temple (the Temple) exists beneath Al-Aqsa Mosque and that Al-Aqsa
must be demolished to rebuild the Jewish temple.
This implies that Hindus have ambitions for the Muslim Qibla
in Makka and want to take control of it and restore Hindu idols there, arguing
that Islam erased their legacy and eradicated them, and now it is time for
their return to the promised land, like the Jews!
These aggressive intentions became apparent when an extremist
Hindu priest called for the invasion of Makka and the seizure of the Kaaba
in April 2023, claiming it is located on the site of a Hindu temple!
Incitement and Warning: A Call to
"Hindu Terrorism"
During a Hindu conference in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, northern
India, priest Yati Narsinghanand Saraswati stated: "The Hindu
temple 'Makkeshwar Mahadev' is located where the Holy Kaaba in Makka was built,
and the waters of Zamzam flowing beneath it are the river of the god
Mahadev!"
He claimed that establishing a Hindu state is a great dream,
and "we all must keep this dream in mind, not just in Afghanistan, but we
must also seize the Kaaba in Makka, where the river of the god Mahadev flows
under the name of Zamzam water," according to his claims.
Professor and writer Muqtedar Khan responded by
asserting that he is inciting Hindus to attack Makka to destroy Islam
worldwide, and warned that what extremist Hindus who currently govern India are
saying is "Hindu terrorism"!
