6 Ways to Fabricate the Historical Truth of the Palestinians in Jerusalem

For
more than a century, the city of Jerusalem has been subjected to systematic
attempts to steal its identity and erase its Arab and Islamic history, as part
of a Zionist project that aims to reshape global collective consciousness to
serve its narrative. These efforts have relied on various tools—political,
media, and cultural—that aim to obscure Palestinian rights and distort
historical facts.
The
following are the six most prominent methods used in this dangerous endeavor:
1. The misleading Zionist
narrative:
Since
its inception, the Zionist movement has adopted a discourse that claims that
only Jews have a "historical right" to Jerusalem and Palestine.
Through this discourse, it has sought to obscure the Arab and Islamic presence
in the city and to deny its deep roots in both place and time.
2. Western media dominance.
Western
media show a noticeable bias towards the "Israeli" narrative, often
ignoring or marginalizing many Palestinian facts; this weakens global awareness
of the justice of the Palestinian cause and distorts the image of the Jerusalem
struggle.
3. The political and diplomatic
support for the occupation:
Major
powers, led by the United States, provide political and diplomatic cover for
"Israel," allowing it to continue denying Palestinian rights and
solidifying the reality of the occupation as a fait accompli that is not open
to discussion.
4. Undermining the Arab and
Islamic role:
The
fragmentation of the Arab and Islamic world, along with the countries'
preoccupation with internal issues and contradictory alliances, has contributed
to the absence of a unified and effective stance to defend Jerusalem; this has
weakened the Arab presence in the face of Judaization and falsification
projects.
5. Policies of Judaization and
Settlement
The
occupation relies on systematic plans to change the demographic, religious, and
cultural character of Jerusalem, through settlement, the demolition of homes,
and the falsification of historical landmarks, in an attempt to create a
"new reality" that denies the Palestinian existence.
6. Absence of documentation and
global awareness:
Palestinian
efforts in historical and legal documentation in a global language are still
limited, and international awareness campaigns are insufficient, allowing the
occupation to question or completely ignore these rights.
