Israeli Worldwide Campaign of Lies
10 Lies Netanyahu Recites and Wants Global Media to Adopt

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has expressed deep frustration with the global media's failure to adopt his government's narrative regarding the ongoing war in Gaza. In two press conferences, one in English, Netanyahu accused international media of waging a "worldwide campaign of lies" against Israel.
Netanyahu Continues to Lie Brazenly
In reality, Netanyahu is lying with unparalleled audacity and
brazenness, a fact highlighted by Avigdor Lieberman, head of the Yisrael
Beiteinu party. Commenting on the Prime Minister's plans and statements,
Lieberman declared that Netanyahu "continues to lie brazenly" and is
sacrificing hostages "on the altar of preserving the coalition, just as he
sacrifices regular and reserve soldiers" to appease Haredi parties.
Netanyahu has alleged that foreign journalists have fallen for
what he calls "Hamas's misleading propaganda." In a press conference
on August 10, 2025, Netanyahu criticized reports of starvation in Gaza,
labeling the claims as "fake" and part of a coordinated campaign to
smear Israel's reputation. He also stated that his government was considering a
"lawsuit against the New York Times" over an article he claimed
contained "outrageous" and "fake" photos of malnourished
children.
In his public statements, Netanyahu has consistently portrayed
Israel as the victim of a biased media narrative. He asserts that Israel,
unlike any other country, makes diligent efforts to avoid civilian casualties
and provide humanitarian aid, yet is still unjustly accused of genocide.
Israel Lost Its "Media Battle"
Netanyahu himself has admitted that Israel is losing its
"media battle" due to what he describes as the "worldwide
campaign of lies" waged against it. He has attributed this failure to the
foreign media falling for what he calls "Hamas propaganda."
The recent public statements by Benjamin Netanyahu have drawn
widespread international criticism and have been rejected by various
international organizations, including Reporters Without Borders.
Here are ten of the most prominent, unsubstantiated lies that
Netanyahu has promoted and wants the world to repeat without question:
1. "There is no famine in Gaza." Netanyahu has repeatedly denied a policy of
systematic starvation, calling reports a "bold-faced lie." This
directly contradicts overwhelming evidence from the United Nations and
humanitarian organizations, which state that thousands are at risk and hundreds
have died from malnutrition and starvation.
2. "Gaza's residents are begging us and
begging the world to be freed from Hamas." This claim is used to justify the brutal
aggression against Gaza, even though all evidence points to Hamas representing
the aspirations of the Palestinian people for liberation.
3. "Hamas is responsible for the destruction
of Gaza." Netanyahu, whose aircraft and
tanks have been relentlessly destroying everything in Gaza, makes this claim
despite Israel having spent an estimated $42 billion on explosives alone, with
an average of $84 million in bombs dropped daily on innocent people in Gaza.
4. "Israel has not and will not occupy
Gaza." Netanyahu audaciously repeats
this lie even as he has laid out a post-war plan that includes Israel retaining
"overriding security control" and establishing a "security
buffer zone" inside Gaza. He occupies the entry and exit points, preventing
water, fuel, and food from entering the besieged territory, leading to the
starvation deaths of dozens daily, as broadcast on all media outlets.
5. "Israel is not deliberately starving the
population." Netanyahu claims that Hamas
steals food and kills those who seek it. This is completely at odds with the
facts. Based on various sources, this claim is false. Numerous investigations
by reputable news agencies and reports from the UN and international aid
organizations have documented a pattern of Israeli forces firing on hundreds of
Palestinians trying to get humanitarian aid, resulting in hundreds of deaths or
injuries. Consequently, the primary cause of the food crisis is not Hamas's
actions, but the Israeli blockade and military operations, which severely
restrict aid access and create unsafe conditions for distribution.
6. "Hamas is the only obstacle to aid
distribution." Netanyahu and other Israeli
officials have tried to blame Hamas for disrupting the flow of aid. However,
the UN and aid agencies have documented significant challenges posed by Israeli
military operations, checkpoints, and the lack of safe routes, which make it
extremely difficult to deliver aid.
7. "Reports of famine are 'fake' and part of a
'global campaign of lies.'" This
claim is refuted by a wide range of reports and photos from the UN,
international aid workers, and journalists on the ground who have documented
the dire humanitarian situation.
8. "The war can end tomorrow if Hamas
surrenders." The history of colonialism and
liberation movements has never shown that a colonial power ends its aggression
because resistance forces lay down their arms. This did not happen in Algeria,
Vietnam, South Africa, or Afghanistan. When Fatah laid down its arms in Beirut
in 1982, Israel and its allies killed 30,000 unarmed Palestinian women,
children, and men in the Tel Zaatar camp.
9. "Journalists killed by the Israeli entity
are Hamas members." This claim, made to
justify the killing of Al Jazeera journalists Anas Al-Sharif and Mohammed
Qreiqa, was presented without any independent evidence and was widely condemned
by press freedom groups as a dangerous precedent and a smear campaign.
10.
"Foreign
journalists are welcome in Gaza." The truth
is that Israel has prevented independent foreign journalists from entering Gaza
for nearly two years. Consequently, this claim is deceptive, as Israel has
largely barred independent foreign journalists from entering the territory
throughout the conflict, only allowing access through military escorts.
