In the era of information and social networks; we got more knowledge, less action

The intended purpose of knowledge; is to put into action, therefore, knowledge regardless of its value, is just a way to act. Hence the importance of contemplating in Sunnah of The Holy Prophet, as a practical enforcement of all orders and prohibitions which was sent down in the Holy Quran, when provisions and morals of Quran has turned into reality in the life of the Prophet and his righteous companions.
About the value of action and putting knowledge into practice, speaks Dr. Adel Al-Mutairat, PhD of Comparative Jurisprudence and professor at Kuwait University, that Muslim should put religious teachings he has learnt into effect. Otherwise it is futile. What is meant here is not a jurisprudence or Fiqh, but it means just knowing, cognition and not ignorance of what is known of the religion. We all know, and be able to, distinguish between lawful and unlawful, halal and haram, right and wrong. We are listening to lectures and lessons and sermons, all of us have as much knowledge of the ethics and morals, but where is the activation of all that?

Shiekh Adel said that we have a problem in today's reality; that we got more knowledge and less action. And the only way to resolve any dilemma, is to recognize its existence first.
No one is unaware that envy and hatred is forbidden, to ridicule and distrust are haram, so, why some Muslims tolerate with the orders and forbidden mentioned in Quran? Quran was not sent down for only reciting; but also for contemplating and meditate; {(Here is) a Book which We have sent down unto thee, full of blessings, that they may meditate on its Signs} Sadd: 29. There was a narrated supplication from the Prophet that he said: (O Allah, I ask thee for a beneficial knowledge) narrated by Al Nassa'ey. The beneficial knowledge is that followed by action, therefore, the companions of the Prophet did not separate between Knowledge and action, knowing and doing.

On the other hand, Shiekh Mutahirat stressed that every Muslim need an honest self-questioning; about the orders and forbidden, the rights of others, duties towards children, coworker and neighbor, rights of  husband and wife, parents and relatives. In addition to each of us should understands the fact that the main goal of his existence in life is worshiping of Allah; {I have not created mankind and jinn except to worship Me.} Adhareyat:56.
We need to strive, to put all what we have learnt of good and virtue into practice in our lives and dealings, it was said: "If Allah gives you a new knowledge, give Him an extra rite in return"; anyone wants to memorize a Hadith, he should practice it first. Similarly the companions was doing; they were not exceeding ten verses unless they understand, memorize and enforce them in their daily lives.

Ways to apply the teachings of religion:

Dr. Mutairat believes that it is first necessary to determine the main aim of life, if one did not specify the purpose of his life, he would end up rambled on his face, steeped in sin, Whenever it was a clear goal, the more one assiduously seeks; student is working hard in order to succeed, he sees the target and go towards it. Employee do his best for advancement in positions. As well as the believer; satisfying Allah is an aim, Paradise is a target, and commodity of Allah is precious, commodity of Allah is Al Jannah, that's precious goals need an effort and hard working.

Secondly, that one should remembers that he is responsible before Allah for everything he learned and did in his lifetime, each one will be asked about five issues; two of them for his lifetime and three for his deeds, (Man's feet shall not move, on the Day of Judgement, until he is asked about; his life how did he consumed it, his knowledge, what did he do with it, his wealth, how did he earn and dispose of it, and about his body, how did he wear it out) narrated by At-Termidhi. We should always remember that fearful position, be ready for that day when standing before Allah. {(It will be said to him:) "Read thine (own) record; sufficient is thy soul this day to make out an account against thee."} Al-Israa:14.

The third thing is to strive against oneself, and not to follow desires, and this is the most difficult things, most people do not hold themselves in Mujahadah  as it should be, because it requires perseverance, determination and patience.{And those who strive in Our (Cause), We will certainly guide them to Our Paths} Al Ankabut:69.
The last point that sheikh Al-Mutairi emphasizes; is the supplication, since supplication is the greatest form of worship, for this, keep your mouth sweet-scented with Dhikr and mentioning Allah all the time, asking Him to help you to stand firm, resist yourself, and to give you a beneficial knowledge and righteous deed.
