Kuwaitis will mark on Saturday the 60th anniversary of demolishing the country’s third defensive wall which was built in 1920.
In the era of Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah a decree was issued on February fourth, 1957 to demolish the wall which was built on a height of four meters and stretched for seven kilometers.
The wall originally had four gates but a fifth one was added later on.
During Kuwait’s history, three defensive walls were constructed between 1760 till 1920 . KUNA
