A Pioneer of Kuwaiti Education

Dr. Hamad Yousef Al-Mazrouei: A Towering Legacy of Sharia Institution-Building at the Social Reform Society

"Welcome, seeker of knowledge,” with these luminous words, Sheikh Dr. Hamad Yousef Al-Mazrouei inaugurated the ceremony of the Da’wah and Sharia Education Sector at the Social Reform Society, celebrating twelve years of institutional dedication. This journey encompassed structured Sharia courses, methodical lessons, educational competitions, specialized programs, forums confronting ideological doubts, and the publication of books and treatises. The result: a distinguished cadre of specialists empowered to teach and disseminate their efforts, alongside a generation of emerging students of knowledge.

The large attendance of men and women bore witness to the success and sincerity of this path. When Sharia knowledge is embraced by institutions and its roots are embedded in hearts, its impact inevitably manifests in the real world. This experience offers several key insights:

First: Loyalty to the Pioneers and Builders

In a spirit of gratitude and recognition, we must honor those who laid the foundation of this blessed endeavor:

1.      Dr. Issa Al-Salem Al-Dhafiri, the sector’s founding figure.

2.     Dr. Salem Hamad Al-Qahtani, who led it into a promising developmental phase.

3.     Sheikh Dr. Hamad Yousef Al-Mazrouei, who excelled in its expansion and outreach, transforming the sector into a hallmark of institutional da’wah work in Kuwait.

Efforts evolved from scattered lessons into a cohesive system that united scholars, nurtured youth, and graduated successive academic cohorts—both Kuwaitis and expatriates.

Second: Strategic Intelligence in Da’wah Work

Among the finest examples of strategic foresight today:

1.      Prioritizing youth and cultivating leadership early.

2.     Educating them methodically under scholars and mentors.

3.     Pursuing carefully planned and distinguished institutional work.

Reliance on individual efforts, however strong, cannot ensure continuity. Institutionalization is the path to longevity and resilience.

Third: Generational Transmission and Leadership Care
The scholarly and da’wah inheritance is a hallmark of strategic intelligence in sustaining and growing the mission. Thus, the Social Reform Society has authored a new chapter in preserving Sharia knowledge and preparing a generation to carry the torch.

During the ceremony, Mr. Mohammed Al-Omar (Abu Omar), Vice President of the Society, delivered a speech affirming the Society’s deep commitment to Sharia knowledge, its role in serving educational curricula, and its ongoing support for institutional da’wah projects. His words offered reassurance that this initiative is not a passing phase, but a strategic choice for the Society’s future.

We ask Allah to bless the efforts of Dr. Hamad Yousef Al-Mazrouei and those who preceded and supported him—especially Sheikh Abdulaziz Abdullah Al-Yaqout—and to grant them the enduring reward of knowledge and its ripple effects for as long as the heavens and earth remain. May successful projects and initiatives continue to elevate knowledge, da’wah, and culture. There is a vast difference between theorizing and delivering results—and what we need today is achievement above all.

In conclusion, what we witnessed is the fruit of sincere effort, a distinctive vision, and continuous work. Great beginnings are forged through such a path. May Allah reward all those involved and make every step they take a means of expanding the light of guidance and knowledge—God willing, toward development and thoughtful evaluation.

And Allah is the One we seek for aid.
